Tyson’s Career Dead

You know you’re career is over when you lose to someone that no one has ever heard of… Sad way to go out, though perhaps his career wouldn’t have been so screwed if he hadn’t gotten convicted of rape in the early 90s…

So long Iron Mike, you still made one of the best video games ever… :P

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Mike Tyson was knocked out in the fourth round Friday night in a shocking end to the latest comeback of the fighter who once was the most feared heavyweight of his era.

Unheralded British heavyweight Danny Williams landed a flurry of punches that sent Tyson sprawling into the ropes, perhaps ending his career with the same kind of fury that Tyson once unleashed on other fighters.

Man, who wants to watch it censored beyond belief? Wait’ll the uppity Parents Television Council (PTC) gets up in arms over this, as they don’t want little kids being exposed to such crassness.

Kid Sues NYC Cuz He Tips Vending Machine on Himself

The sad thing is, the scammers plaintiffs sometimes do get money or settlements out of filing a bogus lawsuit like that, so the continuous litigious cycle never stops…
—-
July 30, 2004—A 17-year-old Bronx high-school student wants the city to pay him $5 million because a Snapple vending machine fell on him at school as he shook it.
Court papers filed yesterday charge Albert Salcedo suffered a broken foot and ankle in the incident on May 25.

“It ate my dollar, so I shook it very gently,” he said. “It must have been top-heavy, because it fell right down on me.”

The Department of Education disputed Salcedo’s claim. According to the high school’s incident report, Salcedo “pulled a vending machine down and it fell on top of him.”

I Finally Read the Article for Which I Was Interviewed

The writer, Guy Martin, interviewed me months ago about the Paris Hilton fiasco… I just ran into his article this morning… Wee, I’m famous! Hah. Dunno why he didn’t give Craig credit like I told him, but I guess that’s what happens with the press, eh? Anyways, Craig was a big contributor to finding out this story, so here’s props to old Craig! Vegas2k5?

The anonymous guest inspired www. wooba.com, a loose but clever online collective, to take a closer look at the Czech site. Wooba.com founder Dan Wu discovered that a single portal on the site – number 25, to be precise – had negligently been left open. Behind that door was the domain name, registered to one Jim Salomon.

Wu emailed this Jim Salomon, who, six days later, returned a computer virus to him. Wu immediately killed it and posted a sarcastic thank you to Salomon on Wooba ‘for letting us know you’re alive’. Then Wooba did more digging, during which it became clear that Jim and Rick Salomon were brothers. On 24 February, 10 days after Wooba broke the story, Salomon went on the Howard Stern show to admit that he, in fact, was responsible for the website, that he had full copyright of the tape, that he had a few other tapes of Paris Hilton ‘around’, but that he didn’t know whether he’d be selling any of them.

Poker Reality Movie Now on DVD

Poker seems to be the flavor of the month… Looks like this movie was made in 1999 and they’re just wanting to cash in on the hotness of poker. IMDB rates it a 7.7, but there’s only 7 votes, so that’s not really saying much.

“The Big Blind,” the world’s first reality-based poker movie, is now available on DVD through internet sale—a distribution system as unique as the film’s financing, production and storyline—the film is funded by winnings of the its writer/director and executive producer, and tells its tale through vignettes based on real poker players.

“The Big Blind” is available for purchase over www.thebigblind.com. The site also provides a synopsis of the film as well as reviews from what would seem to be unlikely sources—championship poker players and columnists of card and gaming magazines rather than entertainment writers.

“I was amazed that someone has finally made a really, really accurate film about us. It was funny, entertaining and most of all accurate,” said Phil Hellmuth, a nine-time World Series of Poker champion. Hellmuth’s review was typical of the accolades directed to “The Big Blind.”

Memphis Raines, they were not…

Adeagbo was allegedly the head of a car crime gang known as the “iPod Crew,” which had been using identity theft tactics to get finance agreements that allowed them to drive off with posh cars—Jaguars, BMWs and the like.

The gang attracted the attention of a local police officer by parking all the cars outside of a housing project. When the police raided one of the men’s houses there, they discovered a range of documents stored on an iPod, including forged letters claiming the cars were paid for.

Do the Speed Limit? Get Beat Up in Germany

Hmm, have I ever thought about doing that to a minivan driver? Nawwwww…. :P

The trucker got in a fight with a car driver who had been slowing him down by observing a 30 km-an-hour (18 mph) speed limit in a built-up area.

Police in the western town of Bochum said the truck driver told them he felt provoked by the motorist “because he was actually driving 30 kph in a 30 kph area.” The trucker faces an investigation and may lose his driving license.
