Thanks for the great, exhaustive review of the phone. I’m considering this as a Christmas gift for my wife, so this info helps. It seems there are already waiting lists here in Northern CA for this thing…

Thanks for the excellent review. I too am looking to eliminate the OBNOXIOUS labelling by Cingular on this phone. Do you have any ideas on how to eliminate the X!?!Xing Cingular stuff on the external display, and the awful Cingular messaging when you power the phone on and off? I am open to any suggestion, and I want to get rid of it desperately!

Is there anyway to retreive the photos off of the phone without using cingular’s pay for email service?

Yep, if you have a Bluetooth enabled PDA or PC, you can transfer photos off that way, which is how I got those three pictures above.

It’s very helpful giving a good info this kind of model. In fact, I’m so skeptical with all the features. One thing I don’t like it is the price. So high and if you buy in Ebay, I rather choose the one who is selling Overseas store and there’s one in Chicago! It came direct from factory, unlocked network, and also included the metal box! Again, thanks!

I wonder, since it does have a “usb” mini connector if hooking up a card reader or external USB drive could work? Just curious….alot of extra luggage. I’ve had this phone for over a week from Cingular, I did have the Treo 600 and got tired of lugging the Tablet Sized Phone around, though now it sits in my laptop bag, since I need the addresses/calendar etc that are require 49 dollar CD from Cingular. I cannot seem to get PIM transfers to work however, files, yes…but PIMs are bit scary, you have to grant all of them and you’ll miss Excellent review.

Great review of the phone. Very well done. I just bought the phone, and for the life of me I cannot get it to connect to my PDA. I got the devices paired, but that is it. I was wondering about 2 things. What type of plan and features do you have with cingular? I did not get any data plan, just the plain 39.99 voice plan. Secondly, how did you do it – what userid/password/number/modem string did you use? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks for the review, and for any info you can pass along.

Pete: Not sure what you are trying to do, use it as a Bluetooth modem? I wasn’t able to use the phone as a Bluetooth modem, but I was able to pair the RAZR V3 with a laptop and a PDA, but only to transfer pictures take by the RAZR. At that time, I only had a voice plan with Cingular.
